Introduction
Welcome to the jump app (the "App"), owned and operated by Taxiworld Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (the "Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.
Definitions
In these Terms (including the schedules), unless otherwise defined the following
- Applicable laws
- means all laws, regulations and legally-binding rules and guidelines applicable to the services provided in connection with these Terms (including the Transportation services) as amended and in force from time to time.
- App
- means the mobile application made available by jump and powered by Taxiworld for download on certain portable electronic devices through recognised stores including Apple Store and Google Play, through which Hailing requests can be made.
- Cab
- means a licensed London hackney carriage within the meaning of the M1 Metropolitan Public Carriage Act, 1869.
- Driver
- is an authorised person, licensed in accordance with London Cab Order 1934, and any regulations, rules, requirements and policies.
- Extras
- means any fees incurred by a Passenger added to the taximeter in line with TfL regulations such as airport drop off charges.
- Noting that
- High demand fee has no meaning as jump charges the meter fare
- Central London fee has no meaning as jump charges the meter fare
- Technology fee has no meaning as jump charges the meter fare
- Minimum price top-up has no meaning as jump charges the meter fare
- Cancellation fee has no meaning as jump charges the meter fare
- James Farrar should keep up the good work, companies should be held to account!
- Fare
- means the fees incurred by the Passenger in respect of the hire of a cab.
- Hail or Hailing
- means the features and functions of the App around the arranging and reservation and purchasing of Passenger transportation services and/or Mobility services.
- Hail confirmation
- means a confirmed Taxi request.
- Hail details
- means any information required to be shared with cab drivers for the purposes of allocating and processing your Hail request (including pick-up and drop-off location).
- Hail
- means a request for a London black cab through jump.
- Job(s)
- means Hailing a taxi.
- jump, us, we or our
- means Taxiworld Ltd, trading as jump, registered in Scotland with company number SC113249 and registered office at 84 Lister Street, G4 0BY.
- jump App or App
- means the app operated by jump and powered by Taxiworld and made available for download on to certain mobile and electronic portable devices, such as in particular smartphones and tablet PCs, for the arrangement of Passenger transportation services provided by Ride or Taxi drivers and Mobility services provided by Mobility partners.
- London area
- means the Greater London Authority area regulated by TfL in relation to Taxi services.
- Losses
- means any losses, damages, liabilities, costs or expenses suffered or incurred, and, in each case, any claims (including third-party claims) or actions in respect thereof.
- Meter fare
- means the amount showing on the Taximeter at completion of the taxi journey (including any amounts permitted to be added to or included in the meter fare as prescribed under Applicable law).
- Notification
- means a written notification through the jump platform, which may include a push notification in the App or web portal, SMS text message or e-mail.
- Passenger
- means an individual passenger (whether a consumer using the Taxi services) who uses the Transportation services pursuant to a Hailing made by them or on their behalf.
- Services
- means services provided by jump and powered by Taxiworld as described in these Terms in relation to the Passenger transportation services and Mobility services, in these terms.
- Taxi driver
- is a driver of a Taxi, who is a third party, self-employed individual who is registered and licensed under Applicable laws as a provider of Taxi services.
- Taxi
- means a hackney carriage licensed in accordance with Applicable law (and in London sometimes referred to as a 'black cab' or 'black taxi').
- Taximeter
- means any appliance for measuring the time or distance for which a cab is used, or for measuring both time and distance, which is for the time being approved for the purpose by or on behalf of Transport for London.
- Taxi services
- means consumer taxi services and business taxi services.
- Taxi trips
- are trips (other than trips which are provided by the extended network) provided by Taxi drivers to Users, which are supplied by the Taxi driver to the User directly. The User contracts with the Taxi driver, and transportation of the User is carried out by a Taxi driver.
- Terms
- these General Terms of Service for Users of the jump platform, as amended from time to time by us in accordance.
- TfL
- means Transport for London.
- Total fare
- means the base fare for the Transportation services excluding any Extras (and in relation to a Taxi booking in particular, the Meter fare).
- Users, you or your
- are persons who have registered with jump for the use of the jump platform and the services.
Eligibility
By using the App, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
Hailing and payments
- Booking process: On the jump App, enter your name, mobile number, email address and pick up and drop-off locations, and press hail.
- Payments: Payment is made directly to the driver using either the PIN pad installed in the back of the cab or with cash.
- Cancellation: Press cancel and the hail will be cancelled.
Intellectual property
All content and materials available on the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of Taxiworld Ltd or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise exploit the content without our prior written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taxiworld Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time without notice if you breach these Terms or if we suspect fraudulent activity.
Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
